Ok. While they look scary, it seems that they don't cause me problems, apart from spamming my logs. > > Even if my systems use /dev/input/mouse? I'm using Debian testing at > > home. The funny thing is that my psaux mouse didn't work, but unplugging the drive and then plugging a USB mouse made me able to use X, but the other mouse still continued dead. I'm now back to using hotplug scripts and to avoid the problem above, I just don't boot with the USB drive plugged. > The patch below gets rid of all the debugging stuff. Yes, thank you for your excellent detective work. :-) I'm now happy to be able to use the drive under Linux to bring some files back and forth to work. > Something similar to this patch will eventually get in to the regular > Linux kernel, but it won't happen soon -- maybe not until after the > 2.7 series starts up. Ok. I don't mind that. If it is not too difficult, I think that I can use your patch to patch future kernels until it is included in the official kernels. > The patch itself can't go in because it's not fully functional; it > doesn't monitor the internal hub for any important changes of state. Ok. If you make newer versions of the patch to check the status of the internal hub, I am willing to be used as a guinea pig. > I should think that as long as you can use your drive, though, you > will be happy. Indeed I am. I've been trying to use it since I bought it in July 5th of the past year. :-) You can't imagine how happy I am right now, regarding the drive.
