I assume that you didn't do very much between the time you plugged in the mouse and the time you unplugged it -- like for example, you didn't connect any other USB devices. Your symptoms indicate the hub driver thread (khubd) is hung, possibly waiting for another driver. The most likely candidates are the HID and usbmouse drivers; maybe one of them is causing your problem. I don't know anything about either of those drivers. Maybe someone else can help.
