OK, so I have no specific reasons to question the behavior of EHCI there. (And mid-block misbehavior is probably not an HCD issue in any case.) However I should mention that for some reason combination boards, USB and FireWire, have often given trouble on Linux ... I've heard many problem reports, no success reports.
