It works all right for me, which means about 3 MB/s to and from a good
flash key on my laptop (with FAT). My CF adapters only push 550 KB/s,
which I put down to the speed of the CF cards I have.

I am sure usb-storage is faster, on average. But as long as ub's speed
is passable, I am not too concerned. Still, I will pay close attention
to performance anomalies. If you see ub three or five times slower,
it's something I am going to correct.
