I have run lsusb -v and sane-find-scanner -v -v as you suggested (The 
box/labelling for the camera has long gone)
I have to say I cannot see the chipset mentioned in the outputs, I have pasted 
the [edited] outputs at pastebin if you wish to look over them yourself

Supposing the chipsets are supported, is it just a matter of modprobe
