I have a Philips PSC805 external audio device. It is powered via USB. This device used to work plugged directly into my desktop. Now it is coming up, initializing, and then shutting down once user space starts. This happens about 90% of the time but not always.
If I move the device to a powered hub either 1.0 or 2.0 it always works and doesn't have a power problem. In the attached lsusb it is plugged into the 2.0 hub. This seems to me to be a problem with power management. Maybe the device is going into power saving mode when plugged directly into the desktop. How do you debug something like this? -- Jon Smirl [EMAIL PROTECTED]
