Tried modprobe and still nothing showed up in the /dev folder so I could
start using the cable. This is just kernel 2.4.4 on a RH 6.2 system. Haven't
update any other system files... but /devfs is configured too... hurm...

Nothing is showing up in /var/log/messages either.
