I cannot get my compact flash reader recognised.

Nothing shows up from a cat /proc/scsi/scsi

I've tried connecting the reader to different ports and get the following
output from 'dmesg | grep usb'

============================================================
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x4e6/0x1010) is not claimed by any active
driver.
usb-uhci.c: $Revision: 1.268 $ time 09:18:52 Dec 19 2001
usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled
usb-uhci.c: v1.268:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 2
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x4e6/0x1010) is not claimed by any active
driver.
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 3
usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x4e6/0x1010) is not claimed by any active
driver.
=============================================================

This shows that my actions in plugging the device into different ports is
being recognised (by the hotplugging service) but I don't know how to proceed
and get the device installed.

Please help
