The last line of your syslog is normal if you are using Debian 3.0
(Woody) and can be ignored. As you can see in earlier lines of your
syslog the usb-storage is loaded.

I get these message too if I connect my Casio QV 3000 and everything 
goes well.

Are the modules sd_mod and scsi_mod loaded?
