  Hmm... well, since those reports I noted said it worked with usb-storage in 
SuSE 7.3, I suspect it is not a vendor specific protocol. Is there any way I 
can force usb-storage to try to talk to it? I don't have access to SuSE 7.3, 
so I'm unsure how they accomplished that task.
