Somebody on another list had the answer, which was apparently in
<http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/zaurus-faq/>, and I didn't see it:
reboot the PDA. That worked, and now I can sync, move files, encapsulate
ethernet, etc, the way it's supposed to do.
