Hi all, 

(I am new to USB on LInux)

I have been trying to set up a new (once used on W2K, but
deleted partitions) disk in Red Hat 7.3.  Once the device
is plugged, proper entries appear in /proc/scasi : 
$ pwd
/proc/scsi
$ ls
ide-scsi  iscsi  scsi  usb-storage-0
$ cat usb-storage-0/2

Obviously, now I have to partition the disk, format
partitions and mount them. 

When I try : 
/sbin/fdisk /dev/sdc
The command does not return the prompt, no error messages,
but the system hangs! 
I can not do anything other than a cold boot! Even the
keyboard locks. 

I would appreciate any help to resolve this problem.
