Actually I want to do a getty via USB, the "echo" was the simplest situation
where something goes wrong.

I'm using mgetty, and this works until the password must be entered; "login"
is started by mgetty and asks for the password. After typing in the
password, nothing happens (i guess login hangs after writing out "password:"). Login
is then still running. Log messages told no errors.

2.4.19 does not work either. The echo appends a "^@" to the hello, and
mgetty logins are still not possible.

bye
