Hi, I am trying to get USB audio working with Linux 2.4.19 and the Apple USB speakers. I have read all of the documentation I can find on the Internet, but I get no sound from these speakers.
I my /var/log/messages, I get this when I plugin the speakers. Speakers] on usb1:5.2 Everything looks great. dsp 14,19 is the major/minor of /dev/dsp1 on my system. I tried catting random data to /dev/dsp1 to try to produce some static. I also tried using audio programs such as mpg123 (mpg123 -s soundfile.mp3 > /dev/dsp1). That didn't work either. I was able to access the mixer device properly (xmixer -device /dev/mixer1) and set the volume, but there is still no sound output. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
