Hi, after an upgrade to a MSI KT4V motherboard, I have problems with my external harddrive, which worked with the old motherboard. I am using SuSE 8.1. After plugging in, /var/log/messages reports:
> Mar 4 15:04:27 faui6r kernel: hub.c: port 1 over-current change > Mar 4 15:04:27 faui6r kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus4/6/1, assigned > device number 3 > Mar 4 15:04:27 faui6r kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x5ab/0x60) is not > claimed by any active driver. > Mar 4 15:04:29 faui6r kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... > Mar 4 15:04:29 faui6r kernel: usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage > Mar 4 15:04:29 faui6r kernel: scsi: limiting sg entries to 204 > Mar 4 15:04:29 faui6r kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices After that, lsusb freezes and USB is useless. Kernel is: k_athlon-2.4.20-18 (a newer mantel kernel had problems with my network card, so I didn't tried that).
