Hi you,

at first: thanks for the two answers I got by now.
And I have to say: I'm a little confused, but read...

it says:

# cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=12 MxCh= 2
B: Alloc= 0/900 us ( 0%), #Int= 0, #Iso= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0000 ProdID=0000 Rev= 0.00
S: Product=USB UHCI Root Hub
S: SerialNumber=bce0
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=40 MxPwr= 0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=255ms
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 5 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0dda ProdID=0001 Rev= 2.5b
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=usb-storage
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl= 10ms

and strangely (the only thing changed since last eMail is, the notebook
was suspended to ram and resumed) I got plugging in the cable:

Mar 4 22:37:13 independence /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product
dda/1/25b

usbview says "IC1100 V2.5B", and tries to mount /dev/sdb1

mount: No medium found

To answer Brians question in that eMail:
I have compiled multi LUN support in that kernel using:
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN=y

I can't try a mount on sda, because I don't own a CF or MD .-(

I'm really confused...

and now getting:
Mar 4 22:37:13 independence /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product
dda/1/25b

Where can I get a module for the USB product dda/1/25b (which may be my
card reader)?
