6. I get "device not accepting address"; why doesn't USB work? Ok that's true... I've just missed this :D (but I have not ever ad this problem) Regarding VIA chipset troubles (my problem) I really cannot find anything, except into forum old posts (and without any solution) I keep to get many "-110" errors followed by "disconnected by EMI" error. It seems a VIA related problem regarding timings under heavy I/O (high CPU load doesn't matter, but using ethernet or disks make usb peripheral reset). It is a common problem as I've seen in forum. Playing with setpci I actualy succeeded in making problem even worst, but I can not get any significative improvement. (lowering USB latency gives me more error, increasing i get really little improvements, but problem still here) I have not seen this error in the past on same computer with kernel 2.4.8, now I upgraded to 2.4.21 a get many errors a day. But I also upgraded motherboard bios, so currently I'm playing with bios settings as suggested in http://www.usbman.com/Guides/VIA%20Tips%20and%20Tricks.htm and I will report any improvements. I've tried with a Speedtouch ADSL modem with both user space and kernel drivers, and with a Globespan ADSL modem with user-space driver, and I get same error ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: eBay Get office equipment for less on eBay! http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/711-11697-6916-5 _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
