I have a VIA KT400 USB2.0 controller on a Gigabyte motherboard. After some agony trying to get usb2.0 to work at all, I finally came across a suggestion to try disabling APIC, which worked! The problem now is the usb-uhci always grabs my usb2.0 reader at boot. When I unplug the reader and plug it back in, the echi-hcd module grabs it. Has anyone else seen this problem, and found a way to get the ehci driver to grab the reader without unplugging the device after booting? Kernel version 2.4.21-xfs-ipsec, havn't had a chance to test with 2.4.0-test1 yet.
