hi, I'm sure u get these questions all the time, anyway, i got a usb adsl modem (ale 070), connected via eci drivers. works almost OK but with a small drawback, when ever i over "use" it (like opening a high consuming application that preforms many connections) or just after some time (which ever comes first), it kinda hangs, not really disconnects but it doesn't allow access to dns servers, and incoming/outgoing traffic gets jammed. i talked to the developer of the driver and after troubleshooting any single possibility with this he said it is likely because of my ohci drivers and their incompatibility with my SiS usb chipset. He also said in the 2.6 kernel there will be better support. First i would like to ask is any of this seems right? and also is there a way to bring this better support to my computer now without installing the whole kernel. If you wish to help me debug the problem further I'm ready.
P.S. currently my modem constantly gives out to /var/log/messages this lines (again and again although each sessions seems to be a different pipe): Aug 17 11:03:14 phntm kernel: usb: raced timeout, pipe 0xc0010200 status 0 time left 0 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
