Probably not normal, but could be explicable - check what modules you
have loaded immediately after plugging in the stick, then after the
first (failed) mount command.  If things are different, the odds are
that you need to look at modules.conf to make sure that modules which
depend on other modules to do their job are loaded in the right way.

Or you could just ignore it. :)
