Hello, I ned to attach an USB digital camera, Olympus C760UZ.
It is recognized as an USB storage device, with no special drivers, in both Windows 2000 and Linux (kernel 2.6.11). However, in Windows the download speed is about 700-800 kb/sec, and in Linux it's about 200 kb/sec. What's wrong? Is there a way to fix this? I am using supermount to mount /dev/sda1 as /mnt/flash/ From /var/log/messages when the device is attached: May 8 00:07:21 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 May 8 00:07:21 localhost /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Bad USB agent invocation May 8 00:07:21 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/scsi_host.agent is installed May 8 00:07:21 localhost kernel: scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices May 8 00:07:24 localhost /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 7b4/105/100 May 8 00:07:26 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/scsi.agent is installed May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: Vendor: OLYMPUS Model: C760UZ Rev: 1.00 May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 May 8 00:07:26 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/block.agent is installed May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 512000 512-byte hdwr sectors (262 MB) May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: sda: assuming Write Enabled May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: sda: assuming drive cache: write through May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 512000 512-byte hdwr sectors (262 MB) May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: sda: assuming Write Enabled May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: sda: assuming drive cache: write through May 8 00:07:26 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/block.agent is installed May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: sda: sda1 May 8 00:07:26 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/scsi_device.agent is installed May 8 00:07:26 localhost /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/scsi_generic.agent is installed May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 May 8 00:07:26 localhost kernel: Attached scsi generic sg0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 -- Yours, Mikhail Ramendik ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by Oracle Space Sweepstakes Want to be the first software developer in space?
