Somebody on another forum told me to try hdparm -tT /dev/sda1 - and the "disk reads" speed was 712 kb/sec. So apparently it's not exactly an USB problem... Here's the line from /etc/fstab: none /mnt/flash supermount dev=/dev/sda1,fs=vfat,sync,--,sync,quiet,iocharset=koi8-r,umask=000 What can make it slow here? Does "sync" affect *reads* so radically? -- Yours, Mikhail Ramendik ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by Oracle Space Sweepstakes Want to be the first software developer in space?
