Hi,

I got this generic VIA USB2/Firewire combo card (according to the FAQ,
these have some issues). With 2.6.12.1, when I insert the card
everything seems to be setup okay, but inserting a bus-powered device
triggers no event and the device is not powered on. Inserting a hub and
then connecting the device to the hub, the "active" light on the hub
remains in the "inactive" state. Included with the card was a
USB->power plug which I believe is intended to supply power from a hub
to the card, but inserting or removing it makes no difference.

I have attached the dmesg. The card was inserted at boot, then the
device (a SM reader) inserted, then I manually inserted usb-storage, and
then having no effect, I removed the card generating strange messages but
leaving me with a usable system at least, and then inserted a 16-bit ethernet
card which I'm using to post this. The 'nobody cared' IRQ always
happens when I remove a card, it's a bug in the yenta driver related to
Toshiba as far as I know.

Thanks.
