That message is okay, nothing to worry about. It will occur whenever you unplug an HID device. (Although disconnection doesn't really rate an error message in the log, so the driver needs to be fixed up to avoid printing the message in this situation.) > Another strange thing I noticed: > Mar 26 10:17:18 shelob kernel: input: USB HID v0.01 Keyboard [Razer > Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse] on usb-0000:00:02.0-5 > > Why is the mouse detected as keyboard too? > Is that usual? It depends on what's in the descriptors the mouse sends to the computer. If you use a recent version of lsusb, you should be able to see the contents of those descriptors. Perhaps the mouse is claiming to be a keyboard... > Ubuntu kernel also fails with this hw combination... I am getting worried. You mean, it fails when the mouse is plugged in at boot time, but it works when the mouse doesn't get plugged in until later? I would assume this problem will be present in all distributions using a recent 2.6 kernel. It's probably due to some weird interaction between the hardware and the software.
