For some reason I had the impression you were using UHCI.  But of course 
on a PowerPC machine it would be OHCI.  The two drivers handle isochronous 
transfers completely differently.  So unfortunately I can't be of much 
help.

You could try posting to the linux-sound mailing list; I get the 
impression that the problem arises in the USB audio driver.  Although to 
tell the truth, it might really be a result of lack of coordination 
between the sound driver and ohci-hcd when a gap occurs in the 
transmission stream.

But I'm not an expert on either of those drivers.  Maybe someone else can 
help.  Don't erase your usbmon log...
