This could be the problem. The cardbus adapter is also a PCMCIA bus
adapter (cardbus is a PCI bus, PCMCIA an ISA bus). Interrupt sharing
is no problem with PCI adapters, and I would think that this also
applies to cardbus cards, ISA was not designed for shared interrupts,
and therefore I would try to assign different interrupts to the 
card adapter and the USB system. You can exclude interrupts that should
not be used in the PCMCIA configuration file. I think I just allowed
interrupt 10 or 11 for the pcmcia subsystem.
