I was thinking about Matthew D's suggestion at lunch
(of having only subscribers allowed to post to
linux-usb-devel), and I remembered that last year
Linus blasted the isdn4linux (or linux-isdn)
project for having a closed mailing list (along with
submitting mega-patches instead of patches to
add functionality or fix bugs).

Bottom line: It's not cool to have a closed mailing list
for Linux kernel development.
