Hi Armin,
        Perhaps both your and Kees problem as due to changes in the SCSI
code. I remember recently that Matt discovered a change in the SCSI
timeout time and that caused some devices to stop working. He posted to
the linux-kernel mailing list about this. His post is in;

        However, I didn't think this change would be in the 2.2.x kernels
but you could check. BTW, Matt is a away for another week or so I think.
