How is the current legacy support harming your use of X?

Most X implementations provide TrueType font support now. The
applications need to use it explicitly to benefit from the support.
Enabling old applications to benefit from TrueType support without
modifying each application would be a significant amount of work, and
would likely require some ugly hacks -- and even then it may not work
nicely.

Lack of support for ``smooth window dragging'' is hardly important
enough to make a list of ``reasons why X should be dumped''.
