Hi,
I got an email from my old ISP last week which told me of a new site giving
away email addresses and 2megs of web/file space:

>So, sign up now for this fantastic FREE account, and take advantage of this
>convenient online account - http://www.thegooey.com/ From
>Your Ihug team.

But when I tried to access it with my favorite operating system it came up
with a window saying I had to use the browser, that comes with my least
favourite operating system. Yet I couldn't help noticing that the
'thegooey.com' web page had a .php suffix. hmmm

So after trying all my linux browsers including Opera set to to impersonate
IE I managed to get as far as the feedback form at least. Of which I filled
in with the following:

>I now use linux at home and at my business. We are currently setting up a
>network that will consist of eight linux terminals. Its a
>bit of a shame that your web site interface has to use internet explorer! I
>wonder also how Macintosh users are going to get on at your site seeing as
>they wont have MS internet explorer either!

I got a reply 5 days later saying:

>Nick,

>TheGooey is built/runs on Linux, Apache and PHP. However when we started
>developing only IE5.5 supported the advanced user interface features we had
>in theGooey. We are waiting for v7.0 of Netscape and Mozilla is now just
>about up to spec, however that requires a major rewrite that we will do for
>V2.0 of theGooey.
>
>Keep posted.

Well fellow CLUG list members, I am left confused. Does Apache or PHP have a
'advanced user interface' that blocks linux browsers? (BTW I am currently
running 'drake 8.2)
