Since I use RH7.3, I had to get gcc 3 first.

In addition to that, all the normal stuff, such as convincing RH7.3 to
use DMA for the drive and so on.

can someone suggest a quick and dirty means to transfer a file or two
between linux machines on a lan, without having to set up nfs or samba
