I want to be able to do the following:
1. edit a pdf so it has annotated lines on it, that can be turned on & off. eg a survey plan with the boundaries to a prticular section highlighted.
2. include some buttons etc so that i can say "hit the blue button and you will see the outline of the section you are buying, hit the red button to see where the sewer easement runs"
3. make the whole thing work in acrobat reader (which is now fairly ubiquitous).
I wanted to do it with pdf's cos that is how linz supply the title search info.
does anyone know if this is possible? Relevance to linux? - I'll prefer to do it in linux of course !
You might want to try Reportlab, does all sorts of nice things with pdfs from python.
comes in 2 flavours, commercial and a cut down open source version
