moving directories

hi i'm trying to move a directory (/mnt/FAT32/ANT) to another location 
(usr/local/ANT) using nautilus (while logged on as root).  i can select the 
"cut files" command form the edit menu, but i cannot paste the files into the 
new location - the edit menu only allows me to paste text.  can any1 help me 
to move this directory? - windows is so much easier!
