Besides, nobody wants to edit out GNU from Linux history, nor can they. People simply do not want to say "GNU/Linux". That's all. That's the only gripe with GNU. Even *you* don't want to say GNU/Linux! Look at the quoted paragraph from you; no GNU/Linux combo there.
Oops. Sorry. Started this thread off again. It was the Python/Perl thing that got me going.... :-)
