I have just counted 30 Linux drivers for Canon printers. In my experience one of the best Linux supported printers about.

You must be joking, right? All the open source Canon inkjet printer
drivers would have to be reversed engineered, as Canon provides
absolutely no support for any of their products. The Canon ghostscript
drivers are said to be inferior to the Epson ones. My father's cheap
Canon job from the supermarket doesn't go under Linux (so he keeps on
whinging Linux wouldn't go on his lappie because he can't print), but
turboprint.de would fix him up. A photographer I know bought a top-range
Canon photo printer about 3y ago because it suited him better, and it'd
be a $1500 paperweight if it wasn't for turboprint.de.

I found the same thing with the Canon, the support staff didn't want to know. My previous printer was listed the replacement wasn't so it was turboprint for quality or the "nearest fit" with iffy results.

I found a review site and the cost per page was around 3.? cents/ page for the Brother if I reacall (if I can find it again I'll post the link)

If I recall correctly the review comments pretty much mirrored the lists comments above regarding drivers, quality, brands etc.
