> IPCop is fine, despite Volker's prejudices. Actually, I spent a lot of time investigating various firewall softwares, and then decided to settle on ipcop, for various reasons. While I was configuring it, I needed a couple of extra ackages. The first one shat itself with a segfault, seen when ssh into the ipcop box, the BUI screen just shows a lot of blank nothing. The second one had a lot of user screen for not very much, and it would have been as fast to work out the config file by hand with a text editor than clicking around. Why have the thing then in the first place. Combined with some questionable design choices, a general lack of features, and a pile of bugs not inspiring confidence I changed my mind pretty quickly. pfsense is infinitely more polished than ipcop.
You can call it prejudice, I'll stay with considered opinion :) Volker PS Happy to demonstrate both. -- Volker Kuhlmann is list0570 with the domain in header http://volker.dnsalias.net/ Please do not CC list postings to me.
