and watch /var/log/messages using the command tail -f /var/log/messages while dialling in. There will, without doubt, be a very good pointer to the solution in there. Also take interest in any pop-up message which kppp might show you. These messages are usually pretty useful too. Alternatively try using wvdial, which is a really intelligent dialler. IQ of at least 150 when compared to the rather dumb kppp at 85. -- CS
