The pacman package manager is quite nice, I agree. You prompted me to have another look at it so I just rebooted into it and it didn't recognise my NIC (r1000) - I have just upgraded my box this week so it is different to last time I booted it up. No problem I thought, I'll just chroot into the installation and run an update (pacman -Syu) to get a new kernel which should have support for the NIC. It needed 950MB of updates and all the mirrors were slow as a wet week from here - 2KB/s slow. It'll have to be another time then I guess. hads -- http://nicegear.co.nz New Zealand's VoIP supplier
