Much the same for me, certainly at the beginning.

If she finds The GIMP to much of a change from what she is used to, or 
needs to achieve a better quality than that provided by the somewhat 
limited 8 bits per pixel offered by the GIMP, you can change the 
default image editor by saying GIMP="krita" instead of GIMP="gimp" in 
the appropriate run conditions file in your ${HOME}/.scribus/ 
directory.
