From what I find, I think I'll pass this one up- mainly because it seems to only support up to 132mb/s transfer rates. Unless SCSI actually would deliver that sort of throughput, I see no reason to get it as I already have the normal two connectors on the motherboard that claim ATA/133, and then an extra four on a Highpoint 374 IDE raid controller (supporting eight devices) built into the motherboard also claiming ATA133. Of course, I've never seen higher than 43 mb/s transfer, but that's a pretty decent speed out of my IBM Deskstar 120GXP.On Wed, 13 Nov 2002 05:00:37 +0000 Bob Raymond <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Jerry McBride wrote:What's the max size of drives the SCSI raid card can support? I've been looking to "SCSIfy" my system somewhat, but not if I can't get anywhere near the storage (180GB) I've got out of 4 relatively cheap IDE disks. On Tue, 12 Nov 2002 18:57:39 -0600 Bill Day <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Jerry, interested in your board, k6 2 and memory...You got a deal. Send me an email, [EMAIL PROTECTED], include your snailmail. I'll package it up, send it to you... once you verify it's legit send me the asking price plus whatever postage you see on the outside of the box. Sokay? You sure I can interest you in that scsi raid card and drives? Has the driver cables too...
I don't know what the upper limit is or how large a volume can be... but I do know we've got one running xenix with 2 10gigers in it. I can check on the drive limits tomorrow, but it'd be faster to browse the net. :')
