Ok i re-started my computer... ran this command
/usr/sbin/named - - -and the
and then checked my /var/log/messages and got:

Feb 3 20:50:37 b6hr2998y54tl named[1430]: command channel listening on 127.0.0.!

And I also checked my "/var/named/" directory and saw that
root.hints.old was there soo that smean thats update script
is working too - im soo excited :)
Soo im not too sure what the next step is just to make sure
things are right.

this is good. you have a working cachinc Bind.
do this:
shut down bind. then do 'netstat -an|grep 53' and send the output to the list
