FWIW, I run X-Win32 at work (to connect from Win2K to linux), http://www.starnet.com/ Cygwin seemed to be more trouble than it was worth and I gave up on that before going to VNC. I abandoned VNC for X-Win32 a couple months ago, still running the evaluation version and it's been great, YMMV...
