Hmmm .. I am confused here. If one OWNS the CopyRights and Patents, but simply
assigns (what I am assuming here is Marketing Rights) to another, Can not
one still do what you want with the CopyRights and patents you own ?

Yes. The bad news, for SCO, is that they can't back off. In for
a penny, in for a pound. And, ultimately, it's lose-lose for them.
I think Novell caught them off guard. How often do you announce
your first-ever quarterly profit and still drop 25% of your stock
value?
