I seem to have hosed my system. After rebuilding the kernel, I guess I ought to have run lilo again, for the umpteemth time, which I didn't bother doing.
Now when I try to boot, no matter which image I use, it just hangs up during boot. I booted up with knoppix and chroot'ed to my proper root directory. When I try to run lilo I am told that /dev/hda is not available or somesuch. This is in my lilo.conf boot=/dev/hda map=/boot/map I have also noticed that /boot is empty, no map there! So, the question is, what is the way to get the system to boot again.
