gcc 2.95.3 glibc 2.2.3

I saw something about problems w/ 2.2.3 (can't remember where now) and
that there was a patch available now or one can wait for glibc 2.2.4,
the release of which is up coming RSN.

That still doesn't address the gcc problem though :(

I've noticed quite a few problems here w/ slackware 8.0 of late;
multiple X crashes /hour, absolutely nothing 'kde' will build, creeping
memory usage - by that I mean overnight w/ xscreensaver set to
blank-screen and dpms set to 'come-on' as well, memory usage goes from
barely 50 MB (no swap usage) to almost all of the 192 MB SDRM plus some
of the swap. Restarting X fixes all (XF86-4.1).

<grumbles to self> if I could only remember what I did with my notes on
mounting and installing from an iso sitting on a HD... </grumbles>

seriously though, SuSe is looking better an' betterer all the time.
