That looks like the same errors Jim & I ran into when putting Quanta 2 onto
kde 2.1.1

This is how Jim fixed it up:

SxS for a CVS compile for Quanta2 pr2
on KDE2.1.1 and COL eD2.4

1: Make a new directory to download the CVS code to. 'cd ..." to that
directory.
2: from a console or terminal,
$>cvs-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/kde login
 3: password$> JUST HIT ENTER
 4: $>cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/kde co quanta
5: You will notice it get all of the code and place it in the directory that
you created.
 6: $>make -f Makefile.cvs
 7: $>./configure --prefix=/opt/kde2
 8: $>make
 9: $>make install
*: You may have to create an Icon for it in kde menu if you so desire. The
binary file is in /opt/kde2/bin/quanta. There should be an Icon somewhere in
/opt/kde2/share/icons/* for it as well

HTH,
