Caldera make use of some RPM macros that cames just with Caldera's distro,
if you try to build on RedHat SRPM packages that make use of that specific
macros I believe build process will fail. If you want to take a look at that
macros you can check the rpm.3.0.6-1.i386.rpm package that cames
with OL3.1
