I've been having a recurring problem accessing the internet on my eD2.4
box. I dial up and get a network connection just fine - only no data
transfer takes place. Pings to my ISP go unanswered, and in fact, I
can't ping anything outside my own network. I disconnect, use my work
account, and everything is fine. After a couple of hours, I connect
again using my personal account and get right on the net. Reviewing
logs, I have come up with one salient fact - everytime this problem
occurs the following addresses are assigned:
Aug 6 20:47:27 costello pppd[7924]: local IP address 216.47.27.128
Aug 6 20:47:27 costello pppd[7924]: remote IP address 216.47.25.5
This problem comes and goes with no regularity other than these
addresses. Any ideas? My problem or my ISP's? Suggestions? Thanks.
