Well I have had 2 different Burners working with Linux over 4 years. The first was an 
Actima and
the others were Sony (8 and 12X). There is no doubt in my mind that Sony is the best 
of them and
has worked at full speed with VCD writes and also written audio at 8 times. The 
Coaster disks
that I have had (about 5) were all my own fault. However I am sure that on todays 
market most
will be good, and all I have used were ide.
