Hi,
I'm running a stock OpenLinux 3.1 workstation. Yesterday I downloaded
kdebase 2-2.1. and kdelib 2-2.1 rpms from kde org ftp site, Caldera
OpenLinux 3.1 distro and and upgraded my system using 'rpm -Uvh --nodeps
--force kde*blah' , which seemed to go OK.
Reason was, I also wanted to upgrade to newest version of korganizer-
downloaded rpms from same site and ran rpm -Uvh --test to see what else I
needed, the system came back saying it needed 5 different kdelib type
files, hence why I did the first paragraph. Did install the korganizer rpm
which also went OK
Did all of the above in a terminal screen, instead of closing out of KDE
first, stupid, I know.
Problem is after rebooting the system everything starts to load as usual
until just before the kde menu screen, I get the gray with mouse as an 'x"
, it blinks several times and then I get a message INIT: Id "gu" respawning
too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
Did I break it? and how can I fix it? Can do crtl alt f1 and get to my
command prompt, can start x session and even was able to run abiword in an
x window with no problem.
Thanks for any help.
Kirk
